Making Bread (5): Rye Bread

Ingredients

Ingredients Amount
Rye Flour 1.5 cups (160 g)
Bread Flour 1.75 cups (210 g)
Yeast 2 tsp (8 g)
Butter 1.5 tbsp (22 g)
Water 1 cups + 0.25 to 0.5 cups

Steps

  1. Mix everything and knead until the dough takes shape
  2. Allow the dough to rise for roughly 1.5 hour, or until 2x the bulk
  3. Shape the dough and put it into baking container
  4. Let the dough rise again for roughly 1 hour
  5. Preheat oven to 350
  6. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown
  7. Let the bread cool off and slice it up
